money matters

Today I went for dinner with yeye & nainai at PS (Attendance at ANNEX. Haha just kidding... thought I could slip in some MFA brainrot. Brother/I, Sister/H, and Father/MF were also present). I could tell that daddy was stressed this morning (though from what, idk) and he was just very exasperatedly reasoning with nainai about unsurprisingly recurring themes relating to (I don't feel like making a numbered list now)... her pocketing the rental money, her disagreements with yeye, her claims that yeye never gave her any money and instead kept asking for money (and age-old claim on her part which, btw, I refuse to believe), her default pinning-the-blame on Wade -- Wade, the impious, unloyal, selfish, incapable, greedy, heartless, cold-blooded white male whose poor temper and scant earnings are the SOLE reasons for his wife's relentless begging antics. As if his wife wouldn't just accept this as a tragic yet normal function of life and pull herself out this hole and crawl, walk, run, whatever on and learn to raise her kids INDEPENDENTLY on her OWN source of income. And, if times really were dire, she would've hopped on the next flight back to Singapore, where housing and her childrens' education are effectively FREE.

Arguments on this matter bother me so deeply and fill my chest with an inexplicable sense of FRUSTRATION. It was as if pieces of thick twine-like rope had been dropped into my chest and tied into endless knots all throughout. I shall continue tomorrow because I'm yawning and I'm tired, and there is unfortunately no opportunity to deploy my recent whimsical favourite "and the long and short of it is..." to tie it all up.

I'm too lazy to continue. Writing about this fills me with a burden I cannot explain.
